Angel is a professionally trained chartered accountant with a background in business studies who spent most of her time in London advising businesses on profit and loss. She began her career as an image consultant at the Aston+Hayes Institute in 2006 before launching The Vintage Patisserie, an online retail outlet and event business.

Angel Newman landed her first book deal with Octopus after gaining attention from the successful BBC Two show, The Vintage Tea Party Book (2011). The Vintage Sweets Book (2013) and The Vintage Tea Party Year (2012).

Angel and her partner, Dick, have both self-published books. They published their first joint novel, Chateau: The Beginning, in 2018, which provided a rare insight into their new life after relocating to Pays-de-la-Loire in France.
