Newman is the owner of The Vintage Patisserie, a 1940s-themed hospitality company. Her love of art, design, and style is thought to have stemmed from supporting her parents at their store. The store has now been taken over by her brother Paul Newman.
Angel moved to East London in 1995 and started selling vintage items at Old Spitalfields Market. She moved into a renovated East London School House in 2000. Adoree also started The Angel-A Vintage Experience, a monthly get-together of friends and fashionistas to listen to jazz, try on vintage clothes, shop, and eat delicious food.
Angel is a professionally trained chartered accountant with a background in business studies who spent most of her time in London advising businesses on profit and loss. She began her career as an image consultant at the Aston+Hayes Institute in 2006 before launching The Vintage Patisserie, an online retail outlet and event business.
It wasn’t long before Angel brought her brand to the next level, appearing on BBC Two’s Dragons’ Den and winning investment from entrepreneurs Deborah Meaden and Theo Paphitis. The relationship did not materialize after the broadcast, but Angel and Deborah remain friends.
