On February 17, 1967, Chante Moore was born in San Francisco, California. Her father was a preacher at their local church. She grew up singing in church and was highly influenced by George Duke and Lee Ritenour‘s music.
The artist competed in beauty pageants throughout high school while pursuing a full-time singing career. At 22, Chante was discovered by an MCA Records executive. On her brother’s birthday, Moore’s mother died on January 25, 1995. Kelvin Gomillion (born January 25, 1961) was her older brother, who passed away on August 18, 2013.

Chante Moore is a reality television personality and American R&B singer with a net worth of $1.5 million. She made most of her income from her singing career. Chante’s debut album, “Precious,” was certified gold and charted in the top 20 on the US gospel charts in 1992. She would go on to record seven more solo albums as well as two anthologies. Moore’s second album, A Love Supreme, was released on November 15, 1994, and reached number 64 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
The singer’s third album, This Moment Is Mine, was released in 1999, and it featured her biggest success to date, “Chanté’s Got a Man,” written for then-husband Kadeem Hardison. Chanté Moore was married to a childhood friend whose name is unknown in 1991. She met Kadeem Hardison after splitting up with her first spouse in 1993.
After the divorce from her first, Moore subsequently began dating Hardison. She and Kadeem Hardison had a daughter named Sophia Hardison in 1996. They walked down the aisle in secret in 1997 and ended their marriage in 2000.
On New Year’s Day 2002, the songwriter then tied the knot with singer Kenny Lattimore in a private wedding in Jamaica. After a year, in 2003, they welcomed a baby boy.
Unfortunately, like Moore‘s previous marriages, this one also didn’t survive. On July 27, 2011, she announced her divorce from Kenny Lattimore in a Facebook post. Her ex, Lattimore, is currently married to Faith Jenkins.
Moore is engaged to her fiancé, Stephen G. Hill. She confirmed her engagement with the former BET executive on October 26, 2021. The couple gushed about their romance in a selfie uploaded on their individual Instagram profiles.
