Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stopped in the United Kingdom to visit Queen Elizabeth on their way to the Invictus Games. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the United Kingdom together for the first time since March 2020, when they moved to Meghan’s home state of California. Meghan, 40, hadn’t visited Europe since March 2020, when she and Prince Harry, 37, completed their final round of royal engagements before stepping down as working royals at the end of the month.

Prince Harry has visited the United Kingdom twice: once for his grandfather Prince Philip‘s funeral in April 2021 and again in July 2021 with his older brother Prince William to unveil a statue of his late mother, Princess Diana. (In June, Meghan gave birth to their daughter Lilibet Diana, named after the Queen’s childhood nickname and Harry’s mother, in addition to the COVID-19 pandemic limiting travel.)

The couple are on their way to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands, which will take place from 16 to 22 April.

The Invictus Games were supposed to occur in 2020 but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan will join Prince Harry for the first few days of the Invictus Games, an international sports competition founded by Harry for wounded service members and veterans.

On the other hand, Meghan will be no stranger to the Invictus Games. At the 2017 Toronto Games, she made her 1st official appearance with her husband Harry, marking the couple’s first official appearance together. She was by his side again in 2018 for the Sydney Olympics, just a few months after the couple announced their first child, son Archie Harrison.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were awarded at NAACP Image Awards on February 28, 2022. On February 14, 2022, the duo attended their first super bowl.
