Patricia Brentrup’s Lawsuit of $80 Million For Fire Incident That Killed Four Individuals

Patricia Brentrup was sued for $80 million in December 1998 by her former neighbors for starting a fire. The fire in the Manhattan high-rise apartment killed four individuals (two men and two women) and injured around twenty more. The fire started when the flames caught a dried-up Christmas tree, because of  Culkin’s mother, Patricia Brentrup, and his six siblings according to the investigator.

The fire started at 10 a.m. As they fled the fire, the Culkins did not close the flat door. This also allowed smoke to infiltrate the passageway, resulting in injuries and deaths. Patricia and her six children were at the time present in the flat. Macaulay, her son, had already left, but he still regularly visited his mother and siblings.

Patricia Brentrup had spent twenty-one years of her life, from 1974 to 1991, with her former boyfriend, Kit Culkin. But, they were never married. The ex-couple had seven children. Their first child, Shane Culkin, was born in 1976. Born in 1979, Dakota Culkin was their second child. Dakota was killed in 2008 after she was struck by a car after stepping off the curb.

Macaulay Culkin who is engaged to Breda Song was born in 1980. Similarly, their fourth child, Kieran, was born in 1982, and their fifth child, Quinn, was born in 1984. Their sixth child, Christian, was born in 1987, and the seventh child, Rory, was born in 1989.

Patricia after breaking up with Kit filed for custody of their children stating that her former boyfriend is adulterous and had anger issues. The court granted custody to her and she became a single mother of seven kids. Patricia accused Kit to be abusive and violent.

However, Patricia did find love later in life. She is currently happily married to Mart D. Cox and is living in Billings, Montana. Similarly, her ex-boyfriend, Kit also dated Jeanette Krylowski and remained in a relationship with her till her death on May 31, 2017. Furthermore, he had a daughter Jennifer Adamson with his ex-wife Adeena VanWagoner. His daughter died of a heroin overdose in the year 2000.
