Mama June updated her style with a long hair makeover on Thursday, sending out a flick and a positive message to her fans about finding the good during the chaos. On her Instagram story, the Mama June: Road to Redemption actress flaunted her beautiful blonde locks while listening to Bryan Martin‘s “Beauty in the Struggle.” According to Intouch Weekly, she commented on the post, “Through it all I try to keep a smile on my face,.”

The new hairstyle is a slight departure from her previous shorter blonde appearance, which she flaunted in a September Instagram photo following a brief trip to her Beverly Hills Salon and a quick trim. Pamela Brogardi, her stylist, was there to see her.

June’s grandson, Bentley Jameson Efird, was born on July 21, and the family has grown since then. June and all four of her daughters met in person for the first time in six years for Lauryn’s “Pumpkin” baby shower in the weeks leading up to the delivery. June, Lauryn, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson were all photographed with their families.

While Mama June is healing from her drug troubles and coping with her continuing possession charge, her famous youngest daughter Alana has stayed with her older sister Lauryn. June and her partner at the time, Geno Doak, were both arrested and charged with felony drug possession and misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

June escaped jail time because she is enrolled in a trial diversion program in Macon County, Alabama, where she can have her charges dismissed if she completes the court’s list of requirements. Before Lauryn’s baby announcement in March, the From Not to Hot star spoke with InTouch about how proud she was of her daughter for taking in her younger sister while June was in treatment. [Lauryn] is doing extremely well,” the mother of four told InTouch.

“Even though she didn’t have to step up [as a mother figure], she did, and you know, in our family … we’ve always stuck together.” She added, “I’ve been seeing [Alana and Lauryn] on social media and stuff like that so, you know, I’ve been keeping up. Mom never stops with an addiction or no addiction.”
