‘Teen Mom: Family Reunion’: Leah Messer Addresses Relationship Issues By Introducing Boyfriend Jaylan
Jaylan Mobley, Leah Messer‘s boyfriend, was introduced on Tuesday’s episode of Teen Mom: Family Reunion. His appearance on the spinoff series comes months after making their relationship public. Even though Messer was thrilled that her boyfriend attended the retreat with the other Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 stars, she couldn’t help but be concerned about their relationship problems.
Messer mentioned to the other moms that she had trouble opening up near the beginning of the episode. She stated that she struggles with this issue in her friendships and her romantic relationships.
However, the artist did say that she wants to improve herself so that she does not push her new boyfriend away. The Teen Mom 2 star then sought help from Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, who assisted her in getting to the bottom of her problems.
Dr. Bryant asked Messer to reflect on her life, and the two began talking about her childhood. Messer was able to open up to the counselor about her strained relationship with her father, who abandoned the family when she was a young girl.
The MTV personality admitted in a confessional that her relationship with her father has influenced how she navigates relationships today. When Mobley arrived, Messer could lead with her emotions after gaining some self-awareness.
Of course, she was overjoyed at the arrival of her boyfriend. But it wasn’t long before they had a couple of tough talks about where their relationship was going. Messer admitted that she has doubts about how long they’ll last, explaining that a lot of it has to do with her ability to let her guard down.
When they talked about it further over lunch, she mentioned that one of the other issues that have been on her mind is the distance between them, as she lives in West Virginia with her three children and he lives in Georgia.
Messer emphasized her desire to be more open with Mobley, adding that she wants him to see both the “good” and the “bad.” Will the two be able to coexist? Based on the episode and what Messer has said about their relationship, they appear to be in a good place. On the other hand, Teen Mom fans will have to wait and see.
