The player was named first-team All-Pac-12 as a junior in 2016–17 after averaging 16.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. After the season, Kuzma elected to join the 2017 NBA draft, bypassing his final year of collegiate basketball eligibility. Kuzma earned a sociology degree from the University of Utah.
