Jason Sudeikis’ 2021 Emmys Wardrobe Similar to Chris Evans’ Look in 2019
At the 2021 Emmys, Jason Sudeikis wore a blue suit that was eerily similar to Chris Evans’ appearance at the 2019 Oscars. Although the “Ted Lasso” star’s Tom Ford suit wasn’t identical to Evans’ Salvatore Ferragamo ensemble — plus, he wore Eazy-E Stance socks — Twitter users were quick to remark out the stars’ matching velvet jackets and black bowties.
“I appreciate Jason Sudeikis upcycling this suit from Chris Evans. They both wore the hell out of it,” one tweeted, while another added, “IS JASON SUDEIKIS WEARING THE CHRIS EVANS BLUE VELVET SUIT ???? we stan men with taste.”
Others called the “Captain America” star a “trendsetter,” asking, “do you believe Jason Sudeikis informed his stylist that he wanted to appear like Chris Evans?” Sudeikis and Evans were both dressed by the same stylist for the events in question, Ilaria Urbinati.
The American actor is up for four Emmys in 2021 for his role in “Ted Lasso,” where his co-stars Brett Goldstein and Hannah Waddingham have already won honors. Regardless of the source of inspiration, the star’s outfit is a far cry from the more casual awards show looks he’s been sporting recently.
The Horrible Bosses star ditched the Tom Ford suit he intended to wear to the virtual Golden Globes in February and instead donned a tie-dye hoodie from his sister’s dance studio, Forward Space. In March, he resumed the tradition by wearing a Crockett High sweatshirt in honor of ex-fiancée Olivia Wilde’s directorial debut, “Booksmart,” to the Critics’ Choice Awards.
“I 100% knew that was going to be a whole to-do. That’s me. “I’m a rabble-rouser,” later he said, doubling down on his dressed-down attitude. But something he probably didn’t see coming? With Captain America, it’s a fight of “who wore it best.”
