Canadian singer Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun got engaged on March 27, 2022, in Paris. The engagement news was revealed by the couple on their Instagram accounts on Thursday.

Lavigne shared a series of photos from their romantic engagement in Paris, including a close-up of her heart-shaped diamond. “Oui! Je t’aime pour toujours. Dimanche. 27. Mars. 2022,” she captioned the post with a ring and a bride-face emoji, which translated from French into English means, “Yes! I love you forever. Sunday, March 27, 2022.”

Similarly, Lavigne’s fiance, Mod Sun was quick to comment on Grammy award-winning singer post. The American musician wrote, “Love you so much! Forever and ever, my angel,”. Not only that, Need that singer also posted a series of engagement images on Instagram. Furthermore, along with photos, he also dedicated a poem to his soon-to-be-wife.

The beautiful poem read, “The day we met I knew you were the one. Together forever till our days are done. I had a dream where I proposed in Paris. I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it. I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes. You’re too beautiful for my words to describe. I grabbed your hand + took one last breath… I said ‘will you marry me?’ + she said ‘yes.’”

After the engagement, Lavigne spoke with People and stated“it was the most perfect, romantic proposal I could ever ask for. We were in Paris on a boat in the Seine River. We had a violin player, champagne and roses. It felt like time stood still, and it was just the two of us in the moment.”

The pair is now eager to begin planning their future together.

Lavigne also provided some interesting details about her amazing heart-shaped engagement ring. The 37-year-old singer revealed that the ring was custom-designed, and has ‘ Hi Icon‘ engraved in it. The ‘ Girlfriend singer explained that ‘ Hi Icon’ was the first-word Mod ever said to her. Furthermore, she revealed that the heart-shaped ring has the name ” Mod+Avril” engraved on the inside.

Lavigne and Mod first started dating in March 2021 after working together on an album. The engagement did not come as a surprise as the singer was seen wearing the ring a few days back.

This will be Lavigne’s third marriage; she divorced Nickelback guitarist Chad Kroeger in 2015 after two years of marriage. From 2006 to 2009, she was married to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley. Similarly, it will be the second marriage for Sun. He was previously married to Bella Thorne. The singer also had a relationship with Tana Mongeau.
