Elfman, after high school, went to Paris with his older brother Richard Elfman. While there, he joined a musical group and played violin. He returned home after continued sickness in Africa and joined his brother’s musical group, The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo.
After Richard quit the band, Danny took over, and The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo became Oingo Boingo, a new wave band. Between 1981 and 1994, the band recorded eight studio albums, and their single “Weird Science,” from the 1985 album “Dead Man’s Party,” became the title song for the film and TV series of the same name.
Besides the band, Danny has proved himself to be one of the most notable composers in Hollywood.
