Zain Javadd Malik, mainly known as Zyan Malik, is a British singer and former member of the world-popular boy band One Direction. The internet recently spread the news that Zayn, a 29-year-old singer, has agreed to play a part in the upcoming animated movie 10 Lives.

Even more so, many of Zyan’s fans were looking forward to the forthcoming animated film. The singer is now part of a cast that includes Simone Ashley and Mo Gilligan. The voice cast includes Dylan Llewellyn (from Derry Girl) and Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda).

The release date of Zayn’s first film is unclear. As per several resources, the film 10 Lives is about a “pampered and greedy cat” who gets a second chance at life after wasting his first nine. Chris Jenkins, who directed the hit film Duck Duck Goose, is set to helm the action thriller 10 Lives.

A little less than 24 hours after posting a rare selfie on social media, Malik revealed the news of his casting. In his first social media photo since last month, the ex-1D singer showed off his pink-hued hair as he looked bewilderedly into the camera.

Also, Zayn showed off his chest tattoos in an open grey woolen blazer and a heavy silver chain on Instagram.

A career in acting has always been an option for the singer. In a 2018 interview, Zayn said that he would consider acting as a career if the right opportunity presented itself.

In other words, “you should never rule out the possibility of something happening. As long as I can remember, acting has been a lifelong ambition of mine. The ex-One Direction star had previously stated, “It’s always been something I’ve liked doing, even growing up.”

“Various school performances and such were among my past endeavors. I won’t pretend I’m the best actor yet, but I’m confident I could get there with some practice. My curiosity has been piqued. I’m not saying I’m an Oscar-worthy actor just yet, but I’m confident that I can get there with some training. “
