Noah tweeted over the weekend, “I said counsel Kanye, not cancel Kanye.” The caustic remark appeared to be in reaction to Ye’s camp’s statement that an unexpected appearance at the forthcoming 2022 Grammy Awards had been canceled owing to the rapper’s recent “concerning online conduct.”

According to sources, West’s team received a phone call on Friday evening informing him that he had been dropped from the forthcoming April 3 awards event. Ye is nominated five times, including album of the year for Donda. Kanye was not among the initial musicians announced to play at the event by the Recording Academy.
