According to Variety, Kanye West has been barred from singing at the Grammy Awards in 2022. West’s representative just said, “This is confirmed,” in a statement acquired by Variety on Saturday, referencing a March 18 article in The Blast.

The American rapper was barred from performing at the awards event on Saturday due to his “concerning internet behavior.” “When will all the BLACK artists, athletes, actors, producers, writers, directors, media, etc. find it out?” The Game wrote over a black backdrop in the photo part of his post.

The singer went on to say that West’s suspension “maybe” because Trevor Noah is presenting the event before adding that “there was a dialogue held amongst his team and the school that led to the decision.”

The Game also speculated that the decision was influenced by Instagram’s recent decision to suspend West’s account for 24 hours “for reasons unknown” after the rapper allegedly used a racial slur on Noah’s page after the Daily Show host, 38, remarked on West’s divorce from Kim Kardashian.

According to the story, the 22-time Grammy winner received word by phone that he had been dropped from the 64th annual Grammy Awards performance schedule. The Recording Academy and CBS did not immediately reply to a request for comment from Variety.

West was apparently barred from Instagram for 24 hours after using a racist slur at Trevor Noah. According to reports, he recently made comments regarding West and his estranged wife Kim Kardashian’s divorce. “Kanye has gotten increasingly hostile in his attempts to reclaim Kim,” he stated at the time on “The Daily Show.”
