Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley, have spoken out after being convicted of tax and bank fraud earlier this month. ‘It’s been a whirlwind,’ the Chrisley Knows Best actor, 53, said on Friday’s episode of the Chrisley Confessions podcast, as the couple faces 30 years in jail.

‘We wanted to let everyone know that our family is going through a very terrible, devastating moment right now,’ he wrote, adding that they are ‘alive and kicking,’ and appreciative of the support they’ve gotten. ‘There are a lot of moving pieces, a lot of things going on in our life, and a lot of witnessing God’s activities right now,’ Todd concluded.

According to the reality TV personality, the pair is not authorized to speak about the trial or their punishment, but she did disclose their present state of mind. ‘We still believe in God and trust that he will accomplish what he says because he is a miracle worker – and that’s what we’re hoping for.

The American businessman said it’d been a terrible period for the couple, who are presently on house arrest at their 6-bedroom, 10-bathroom property. ‘It’s a difficult moment right now, but we appreciate every one of you who has done the work,’ he said, adding, ‘We’ve got to walk the walk and do whatever it takes.

Instead of flowers or food, he requested prayers, calling it the “best present” they could get. Todd went on to claim that their three children, Chase, 26, Savannah, 24, and Grayson, 16, are ‘all doing the best that they can – a lot of tears [and] a lot of sadness, a lot of sorrow.

Todd, who has ex-wife Teresa Terry’s daughter Lindsie, 32, and son Kyle, 30, said Savannah and Chase would most likely take over the program. ‘We’ll keep doing ‘Chrisley Confessions’ for as long as we can, and Chase and Savannah will take over after that.’ And they’ll be the ones to update you on everything that’s going on in our life at the time.’

Meanwhile, a source told Us Weekly earlier this week that the pair had not expected to be found guilty and that their lives had been put on hold until they were sentenced. The Net worth of Todd was negative.

Any future plans Todd and Julie have are on hold until they learn of their punishment in the autumn.’ It’s devastating news, and they hadn’t expected to be found guilty. That was the turning point in their lives. ‘They aren’t sure what this implies for the future of Chrisley Knows Best and all of their other ventures that were in the works,’ the person continued. At this point, no one knows what will happen or what should be done.

Savannah took to Instagram on Thursday to express her support for her parents and encourage her fans to ‘be gentle’ because ‘it’s been a few weeks amid the family’s struggle, as she posted a quotation from writer Zanna Keithley.

According to the Associated Press, the pair was also convicted guilty of tax evasion and conspiracy to cheat the IRS, with Julie being found guilty of obstruction of justice and wire fraud.

Following their conviction, U.S. District Judge Eleanor Ross sentenced the Chrisleys to home confinement and location tracking and ordered them to notify their probation officer of any transactions over $1,000. On Thursday, October 6, the pair will face a sentencing hearing in Atlanta, Georgia.
