Jonah Hill appears to be happier and healthier than ever, and he’s celebrating with some new tattoos. The actor and filmmaker shared a photo of his new tattoo on Instagram. It’s on his back. The tattoo reads “body love” and includes a sign language “I love you” symbol. Hill was also sporting a shaggy surfer appearance with bleach blonde hair and a tan.

Hill, who has previously spoken openly about his difficulties with body image and how public attention to his weight has been challenging for him, finds the concept of body love particularly poignant. He penned an uplifting piece outlining how far he’s gone on his path to self-acceptance after a Daily Mail article ridiculed his figure while surfing in March.

The American actor wrote, “I don’t think I ever took my shirt off in a pool until I was in my mid-30s, even in front of friends and family. Probably would have happened sooner if my teenage insecurities weren’t exacerbated by years of public mockery about my body by press and interviewers.”

The Superbad star added,” So the idea that the media tries to play me by stalking me while surfing and printing pictures like this, and it can’t phase me anymore is dope. I’m 37 and finally accept and love myself.”

This isn’t a ‘good for me’ post. And it’s definitely not a ‘feel bad for me post,” Hill told. “It’s for the child who don’t take their shirt off at the pool. Have fun. You’re wonderful and awesome and perfect. All my love. Oh and Daily Mail, not even you can take that smile from my face ;).”

Furthermore, Hill got his start in comedies like Superbad, but he’s since moved on to dramas, earning two Oscar nods for his parts in Moneyball and The Wolf of Wall Street. Later this year, he’ll appear in Adam McKay’s buzzy comedy, Don’t Look Up, which will be published on Netflix. Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Timothée Chalamet, and others also star in Don’t Look Up.
