Geraldine Hakewill is an Australian actress, singer, and songwriter born on July 13, 1987, in Paris. Her family was temporarily residing while her father, Peter Hakewill, a general practitioner, worked in tropical disease management. When she was nine months old, her family relocated to Geneva, Switzerland, then to Chennai, India. Her parents could practice meditation in an ashram; her mother, Elizabeth Hakewill, still teaches meditation.
