On February 24, 1931, Dominic Chianese was born in the Bronx, New York. After his grandpa immigrated to the United States from Naples, Italy, in 1904, his family lived in the Bronx. The artist is the son of a Bricklayer and attended the prestigious ‘Bronx High School of Science.’

After graduating from high school, Dominic began working on construction projects with his father while continuing his education at a night school. In 1961, he graduated from ‘Brooklyn College,’ earning a BA in speech and theater studies.
