Bella Hadid dreamed of being an Olympic-level equestrian, pursuing photography, and following in her mother’s stiletto-clad modeling footsteps when she was 14 years old. Fast forward a few years, and Hadid, along with her sister Gigi, is one of the most well-known figures in the modern fashion world.

However, after years of runway shows and iconic cover shots, some are beginning to wonder if a minor plastic surgery aided Hadid’s celebrity. In Vogue‘s April cover story, Hadid claimed, “I was the uglier of the two sisters. I was the brunette in the group. I wasn’t as hip or extroverted as Gigi. That is exactly what others have stated about me. And, unfortunately, when you’re told something repeatedly, you tend to believe it.
