During her time on Jeopardy!, Schneider became the most successful female contestant in the show’s history and the first woman to earn more than $1 million. She is also the first transgender contestant to compete in the Tournament of Champions on Jeopardy.
Schneider frequently wore a pearl necklace on the show, which Davis gave her for her first birthday after they began dating. “[Being on Jeopardy!] was the first time I’d spent away from her since we’d started dating. And having that was just a nice, comforting reminder that she was at home waiting for me,” According to the contestant’s statement to USA Today.
Schneider’s streak ended in January after 40 consecutive games and winnings totalling $1,382,800. (Schneider is now the fourth-highest paid regular-season player, trailing only Ken Jennings, James Holzhauer, and Matt Amodio.)

Schneider previously told PEOPLE that representing the trans community on the show has been “really great.” “I’d had feelings of almost guilt about how easy the path of being a trans woman has generally been for me. It’s easy because of the work and sacrifice that so many people before me made,” she explained. “There was sort of a little bit of a feeling of guilt about just sort of reaping all the benefits of that without feeling like I was giving much back.”
“To be making an impact now and giving something back without trying, just doing something I was going to do anyway,” Schneider added, “is really great.”
The artist also stated that she hoped to travel abroad with her now-fiancée to enjoy her winnings. “We’re going to Ireland, and we’re thinking about where else we might go with it,” she explained. “And buying some fancy designer clothes I think is definitely, definitely on the list.” Schneider will return to the show this fall for the Tournament of Champions.
