Alexandra Zarini has filed a complaint in a federal court in the United States, alleging that her stepfather sexually molested her for 16 years. Years of sexual abuse by her former stepfather, Joseph Ruffalo, and conspiracy and a cover-up on her biological mother, Patricia Gucci, and grandmother, Bruna Palombo, are detailed in the lawsuit filed in California superior court in Los Angeles.

Zarini’s lawsuit claims that Ruffalo, a musician who has collaborated with Prince and Earth, Wind & Fire, sexually abused her from six years until about 22. According to the lawsuit, Ruffalo allegedly went into bed naked with her frequently, fondled her, and attempted to penetrate her with his hands, first reported by the New York Times. Zarini also claims that he exposed and rubbed his genitals against her.

According to the lawsuit, Patricia Gucci not only enabled her former stepfather to continue the alleged abuse, but Palombo allegedly told her “to keep quiet and cover them up.” Patricia Gucci and Palombo “attempted at all means to avert what they considered to be a scandal that could taint the Gucci name and perhaps lose them millions.“

Ruffalo has denied the allegations, claiming that he is entirely innocent. In 2007, her mother divorced Ruffalo after discovering that he had sexually mistreated Alexandra and Victori’s children. Alexandra has claimed that Ruffalo extorted money from her mother, Patricia. Like her grandfather Aldo Gucci, her dread of going to prison for tax evasion may have impacted her decision to remain silent.
