He offered her his phone number, and despite her reservations at first, Hilaria contacted him, and they arranged a date.

In 2013, Hilaria told BEACH magazine that she and Alec didn’t have their first kiss immediately away. She stated that she wasn’t sure whether he wanted to date her or be her friend at first. In 2011, the pair moved in together around five months after they met. Alec proposed to Hilaria less than a year after they moved in together.

The couple married in New York in the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral at the end of June 2012. On August 23, 2013, Hilaria tweeted that he had just given birth to his daughter, Carmen Gabriela. Hilaria announced the birth of her second child and first son on Instagram nearly two years after delivering their daughter, Rafael Thomas Baldwin, into the world.

Hilaria posted an Instagram photo of herself cradling her second kid in a hospital bed on September 12, 2016, to announce the arrival of their third child, Leonardo Ángel Charles Baldwin. Hilaria gave birth to their fourth child, Romeo Alejandro David Baldwin, on May 17. She posted a photo of Carmen cradling her new baby brother and noted that they were still trying to come up with a name at the time.

Hilaria announced on Instagram in April 2019 that she was experiencing a miscarriage. Hilaria said that she experienced another loss in November 2019. She shared a video of herself and her daughter Carmen on Instagram, writing that the baby had “gone away at 4 months.”

The couple announced the arrival of their fifth child on September 8, 2020. Hilaria announced the birth of their fifth child, Eduardo Pau Lucas Baldwin, with a snapshot of herself, Alec, and the newborn in a hospital room. The pair surprised many when they announced the birth of their sixth child, Eduardo, on March 1, 2021, just six months after their son Eduardo. They reported to People exclusively that they expect their seventh child in March 2022.
