Victoria’s Secret bids farewell to Angels in an attempt to redefine ‘sexy’ bringing celebs like Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Megan Rapinoe on Board
Victoria’s Secret has announced two new spokeswomen: Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Megan Rapinoe. Priyanka and Megan will rep Victoria’s Secret, but instead of flaunting their bodies, they’ll be sharing their minds.
The lingerie giant has named the actress and former US women’s soccer player as its newest spokeswoman. The firm is rebranding to be more inclusive and appealing to a broader audience, and the duo has been hired to lead the new VS purpose of inspiring change and optimism.
Megan and Priyanka will appear on a podcast and other marketing materials, rather than wearing Angel wings or revealing lingerie ensembles, as part of the new marketing approach. South Sudanese-Australian model Adut Akech, freestyle skier Eileen Gu, Brazilian transgender model Valentina Sampaio, plus-size model Paloma Elsesser, and journalist Amanda de Cadenet are among the attendees, according to the New York Post.

The women from the VS Collective, a platform created by Victoria’s Secret to foster closer interactions with women of different backgrounds. Priyanka has a long history of pushing for women’s rights, including speaking on behalf of UNICEF, an organization with which she has worked since 2006. She also has a nonprofit organization named after her that aids sick children all around the world.
Megan has been a strong advocate for women’s rights since she rose to prominence on the field. Since she’s had a platform, she’s been a proponent of equal pay and rights for LGTBQ+ people. She even testified before Congress earlier this year, advocating for fair compensation.
VS’s redesign comes nearly three years after the company’s chief marketing officer made a controversial comment about transgender models to Vogue. He has since left the company.
