On Thursday, Machine Gun Kelly turned to Instagram to introduce the world to his estranged mother, who abandoned him as a child. The “Bloody Valentine” singer, born Colson Baker, posted a selfie of himself raising two middle fingers while sitting close to his mother, who was jokingly holding up a peace sign.

“I’d want to introduce… my mother” On Thursday, MGK, 32, captioned the photo. Both appeared to be overjoyed to be together, with large smiles for the camera. MGK was dressed casually in shorts and a T-shirt, while his mother was dressed for a workout.

In the comments section, several of his admirers expressed their support for their family reunion. “She’s stunning,” one person said of the photo, while another added, “You have the same smile.” A second individual commented, “I’m so thrilled for you that I’m about to cry.” “Oh my god, I can’t believe you’re with her.” “I’m pleased for you if you’re happy,” a third agreed. “Omg! This is a huge deal. “Congratulations on reuniting,” remarked another.

The rocker disclosed in the lyrics of his song “Burning Memories” that he was born in Houston, Texas, to missionary parents and was abandoned by his mother when he was just nine years old. “This one’s for the mama I never knew,” he sings, “I took acid simply to obliterate all of my memories of you.“
