Patrick Mahomes & Brittany Matthews are Expecting 2nd Child!

Brittany Matthews and Patrick Mahomes are starting a family. In a joint Instagram post on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and his trainer wife announced that they are expecting their second child. “Round 2!” they simply captioned their trio of photos, including Mahomes and Matthews, both 26, holding Sterling Skye, their 15-month-old daughter, and an ultrasound shot.

In the images, Sterling’s sign introducing her sibling-to-be says, “Big sister duties… coming soon.” The pregnancy announcement comes only two months after the longtime pair married in Hawaii after their initial engagement in September 2020. They met at Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas, which they both attended.

Sterling’s first birthday was honored on social media by Matthews and Mahomes in February. “My Ster Girl is ONE YEAR OLD! I can’t believe what I’m hearing, “the ecstatic mother wrote. “You, my beautiful baby, are deserving of the entire world!! According to Yahoo Sports, the high school sweethearts met at Whitehouse High School in Texas and began dating while Mahomes was in 10th grade and Matthews was in 11th. Mahomes walked Matthews to the prom in 2013, and he shared this sweet photo collage on Instagram.

Matthews went on to play soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler after graduating from high school. Mahomes went to Texas Tech University the following year, 440 miles distant from Matthews’ school, but they made it. Mahomes wasn’t the only one who got a ring during the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Ring Ceremony.

Shortly after the wedding, he dropped down on one knee and presented Matthews with her ring in front of a stunning floral wall and the words “Will You Marry Me?” in light-up lettering. With the hashtag #RingSzn, Mahomes published the proposal on Instagram.

The couple announced their first child’s arrival with an Instagram post around September 2020. Matthews took to Instagram on Sunday, February 21, 2021, to announce the arrival of their newest family member. She captioned a cute shot of Sterling’s small hand gripping Mahomes’ finger, “Sterling Skye Mahomes.” Matthews also wore a necklace with her baby daughter’s name spelled out in cursive. She went on to say that the kid was delivered on February 20 and weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. Mahomes also posted the identical photo to his Instagram account.

In Maui, Hawaii, the pair made their romance official by exchanging vows beneath an eye-catching floral arch overlooking the ocean, surrounded by friends and family. While the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback donned a gray suit and dazzling black shoes, his wife dazzled in a Versace gown with cutouts, rhinestone accents, and an opulent train. Sterling Skye was also present at the wedding. Following the picturesque wedding, the newlyweds posted on Instagram, “Mr. & Mrs. Mahomes.”
