Tory Lanez was Detained at Las Vegas Airport after finding Marijuana in his bag
Tory Lanez was stopped at a Las Vegas airport after Transportation Security Administration (TSA) investigators allegedly discovered marijuana on him. While marijuana is legal in Las Vegas, he learned that bringing it home is against the law.
TMZ reported TSA discovered a ‘substantial’ amount of marijuana in one of his suitcases and detained him briefly. The TSA eventually let him depart – without the marijuana – because the recreational substance is still banned from flying on a federal level.
Because the rapper’s detention most likely caused him to miss his trip back to Los Angeles, he took advantage of the delay and secured a job. He shared the news on his Instagram story. Tory was scheduled to play at the Drai nightclub at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon. “Vegasssss, I’ll be in the f***ing city tonight!!!!!!’ he said while tagging the @DraisLV Instagram handle.
The young artist also shared a visual from Drais, revealing that he’d be performing live on Sunday with sounds by Fatboy Radio.’ ‘Vegasssss @DraisLV,’ the rapper captioned a video of himself driving up to Drais from his truck.
According to sources, there is an ‘ongoing investigation’ into the marijuana accusations, and he might be charged with a violation. However, because the feds haven’t pursued many small marijuana infractions recently, he may get away with it. Since 2020, when he shot Megan Thee Stallion twice in the foot, the rapper has been surrounded by scandal. Moreover, Megan and DaBaddy‘s Twitter feud for a Tory retweet.
In March, he also made news when the estate of late singer George Michael accused him of plagiarizing his 1984 track Careless Whisper. Lanez’s new song Enchanted Waterfall includes a sample from the song, which the estate denied him permission to use last summer, but he did it anyway. The estate took action by requesting that the music be removed from streaming services like Spotify.
